      <image:caption>I am a conservation geneticist with a drive for protecting the natural environment. I received my Bachelor of Science in marine science and biology from the University of Miami in 2018; here, I discovered my love for genetics through my work with the NOAA Southeast Fisheries Science Center Larval Ecology Lab and UM’s Marine Conservation Genomics lab. I graduated from Nova Southeastern University with my Master of Science in Biology in August 2021. At Nova, I worked in the the Conservation Biology lab where I studied the population genetic dynamics of scalloped hammerhead sharks in the Eastern Tropical Pacific. I am currently pursuing my PhD as a Genetics and Genomics scholar at North Carolina State University, where I am using genomic tools to investigate temperature-dependent sex determination in southern flounder.</image:caption>
